Festival of Trees
“Recycle, Reuse, Re-Gift,” the entry created by Tecton’s Interior Design team, demonstrates each precept. Wallie and his friends are supported by wire hanger “branches” as they search the “world,” a blue exercise ball with green continents painted on it, for items to recycle. Its tree skirt is made entirely of reused neckties, approximately 100 of them, collected by the Interior Design team; ties range from the psychedelic polyester of the ‘60s to silks from the ‘90s. A few rewrapped gifts sit on the skirt and include that classic re-gift of all re-gifts, a Claxton fruitcake!
Always an enjoyable way to begin the holiday season, “Recycle, Reuse, Re-Gift” represents Tecton’s 5th year of participation in the Atheneum’s Festival of Trees and Traditions.
