Bristol Myers Squibb - Gelb Research Center

Having successfully completed multiple internal infrastructure projects at Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Gelb Research Center in Wallingford, Connecticut, Tecton was retained to provide Master Planning Services to create a new wing. The firm developed programming, detailed space planning and schematic design for a facility to house the world’s largest Robotically Controlled Compound (RCC) storage and retrieval system. The $50,000,000 F-Wing is the keystone of Bristol-Myers’ drug discovery initiative.
In addition to the primary RCC system, the 160,000 sq ft F-Wing provides biology and chemistry research labs, robotic high-throughput screening labs, administrative support offices, as well as conventional drug storage facilities. Final construction documents were produced by Kling Lindquist, based on Tecton’s work product to Bristol-Myers Squibb.
