The Lee Company
The ever-changing direction of the Restrictor Group’s business required that it relocate from The Lee Company’s aging campus. A facilities expert, whose background with various well-known industrial companies includes other advanced technology facilities designed by Tecton, recommended the firm as Architect for the Group’s new, advanced technology R&D and manufacturing facility. Planning & Zoning support for a 40-acre Greenfield site was among Tecton’s services.
Embracing the metal building typology, Tecton’s award-winning design incorporates unique ways of producing high-design aesthetics. For example, the building’s skins were reversed -- at only a 2% overall cost premium -- exposing its structural elements while retaining standard connection details.
With 75% of the 96,000 sq ft facility devoted to the production of inline fluid and gas restrictors, the manufacturing area incorporates 100’ clear spans and construction methods that allow for uninterrupted manufacturing processes. Office and employee areas incorporate interesting details with a clean, high-tech appeal.
