Tecton’s renovations pay tribute to the vision of the new Master Plan and transform the Danbury campus, creating a pedestrian campus with urban model amenities. Crafting a vibrant student hub and campus center from the aging Student Union entailed closing a dead-end street, relocating the kitchen service entrance, reorienting and adding a student streetscape and plaza, and enhancing the walking campus.

Bringing Memorial Hall into the 21st century, the expanded and refreshed student center incorporates a food service area with lounge, benches shaded by a new loggia, and a student performance and video theatre, adding to the vitality of the new student “street.” Now a popular and active focal point for student activities, Memorial Hall also houses the campus radio station, post office, campus store, meeting/activity rooms, recreation areas with pool and other game tables; it also offers plentiful indoor and outdoor gathering places.
