Rocky Hill Police Station
Working directly with the newly hired Police Chief, Tecton Architects transformed Rocky Hill’s recently vacated former Town Hall to accommodate Police functions. The existing Police Station was updated and reconfigured to provide a well organized layout, and a sally port was provided to assure safety in transferring prisoners. In aggregate, these updates brought the facility into substantial compliance with IACP guidelines.
Knitting project size with funding from a variety of sources enabled the successful completion of the project in four phases. In addition to allowing Police Staff to continue operating from portions of the building and providing for appropriate swing space throughout construction, multiple grant sources became available to the Town over the two-year construction period.
Recipient of the 2007 Award for Excellence from the Associated Builders & Contractors Association, the Police Station is the third project Tecton has completed for the Town of Rocky Hill.
