Arburg is a leading manufacturer of high-end injection molding machines for plastics processing. Based in Germany, their new United States headquarters was designed by Tecton and was constructed on a Greenfield site in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. This new sales and service headquarters required utilities, grading and land development including hard surface truck, car and pedestrian circulation, lighting, signage and landscaping. Tecton designed a steel-framed flat roof structure with roughly 12,000 SF of high-bay showroom/warehouse/assembly area and 13,000 SF composed of administrative offices, training, and building common and support spaces in two stories. Following completion of the main building, Tecton also designed an expansion of the facility that included a 1-story high-bay warehouse addition, basement renovation and office infill.
