Noah Webster MicroSociety Magnet School

Hartford, Connecticut

Noah Webster was originally one of Hartford’s grand old schools, located in the historic West End of the city. In association with James Vance and Associates, Tecton designed a new addition that fits the scale and texture of the neighborhood and creates a new main entrance and drop off along Whitney Street. Now a Pre-K-8 inter-district magnet school, Noah Webster serves 750 students through an educational program that emphasizes “societal role playing” through a micro-society theme. The atrium and main lobby serve as the “Village Square” for school gatherings and create connection between the main office, cafeteria and library.
