The Parker Memorial Community Center serves Hartford’s North End with a full-sized gymnasium, pool, weight room, locker rooms, game room, community room and classrooms. The updated building replaced an existing, outdated two-story facility, with an easily supervised main floor that houses all activities. In addition to supporting the community’s recreation needs, the building also serves as one of Hartford’s emergency shelters, with a back-up generator and ice storage for chilled water creation during power outages.
