Spaziano Annex Elementary School

Tecton is partnering with O&G Industries on a new elementary school for the City of Providence, delivered through design-build. The new 85,000 SF, PK-5 school will be built on the site of the existing Spaziano Annex Elementary School, and when complete, will serve 684 students through a dual-language program. Creating meaningful value to the surrounding community was at the forefront of the project priorities. The design team laid out the space with co-located public, multi-purpose spaces to enable off-hours use, a robust family resource center and a “garden level” to provide dynamic green space in the dense neighborhood. The compact, 4-story building is designed for Net-Zero Energy, with efficient building systems and roof-top photovoltaics to achieve a low EUI.
