Tecton designed the new Westport Police Station with the goal of supporting evolving technology requirements and an expanded town and staff population. The single-story facility is designed to blend with the surrounding coastal New England setting and to complement the adjacent Westport Fire Station. The new station provides a modern asset to the department in supporting their ability to provide 21st century policing and service to the diverse coastal community which has a significant seasonal influx in its population. This facility incorporates a welcoming lobby, large training classroom, sally port and prisoner processing area, vehicle maintenance garage, fitness and locker accommodations and a modern emergency communications center with raised access flooring for future flexibility. The building will provide a safe, secure and functional environment to better address the needs of the community now and into the future.
