Today, we say addio or farewell to Tecton’s Marco Tommasini as he embraces retirement. Marco joined the firm in 2011 as a part of the DuBose Associates merger, and the place has been livelier because of it. When we talk about what’s most important to Tecton’s success, the relationships with our clients and partners is absolutely at the forefront, and no one epitomizes that commitment more than Marco. He has built a 20+ year relationship with the University of Rhode Island, touched every major building on Suffield Academy’s campus and spent nearly a decade meticulously restoring Westerly’s United Theatre. In recent months, Marco has taken on his newest title…grandpa! And we wish him a relaxing retirement filled with long naps (for the baby!), good wine, fair winds and following seas.

We’re geeking out over the Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) mock-up for the new Candlewood Lake Elementary School! This method of exterior wall construction is simple and effective – picture stacking hollow foam Legos and filling them with concrete. In January of 2020, Tecton opened the year in our new Hartford office, excited at the prospect of creating a new home to support our team and serve our clients. While this year brought many surprises, what we couldn’t have anticipated is that being apart would bring us closer together.
