Our client, a global alternative investment manager, acquired a private equity firm and sought to relocate the company’s Simsbury office to better support growth and serve clients. With Tecton’s support, our client selected the second floor of a two-story building in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square, a distinct contrast to the company’s existing rural location. Tecton’s design exploration process delved into the tradition, culture and working style of the existing office and staff, while exploring new ways to maximize collaboration and efficiency. The new space includes a mix of open office and collaborative spaces, with abundant glass and private offices strategically wrapping the perimeter to provide natural daylight throughout. A centerpiece café and training room features state-of-the-art appliances and technology, to serve as the “heart” of the office and support global, connected meetings. The palette reflects the strength and rich history of the company, with warm neutrals, rich patterns and textures, and the brand's signature blue as the hallmark.
